All prospective departmental majors and minors applying for fall semester must complete this application and audition for program admittance. This application and an audition also serve as the scholarship consideration process. The application and audition must be submitted by March 15. You may audition in person or by video. Major Scholarship Awards—presented to outstanding high school seniors and transfer students who are committed to a career in music, theatre, or dance. The total award amounts vary depending on the student’s musical ability and the needs of the Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance. These awards are renewable each year that a student continues as departmental major, but students must reapply to the department for renewal. To qualify for these awards, students must declare a major in the department, complete the scholarship application, and audition in person or video. Students who audition for these awards must follow audition guidelines and demonstrate outstanding proficiency and artistry.
Minor Scholarship Awards—presented to outstanding high school seniors and transfer students who are planning to minor in music, theatre, or dance. These awards vary in amount and are renewable each year that a student continues with a minor in the department, but students must reapply to the department for renewal. Endowed Scholarship Awards—presented annually to Taylor upperclassmen who are majors. These awards vary in amount and are designated for students who meet the endowed award specific criteria.
Departmental Participation Awards—presented to a limited number of students interested in instrumental ensemble. Students chosen for these awards have typically demonstrated outstanding skills. The amount of these awards may vary and are renewable, but students must reapply to the department each year. To qualify for these awards, students must complete an application, and audition in person or video. Students who audition for these awards should follow audition guidelines and demonstrate outstanding proficiency and artistry.
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre—The audition for the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre consists of three parts: acting, singing, and dancing. Your "audience" will consist of Music, Theatre, and Dance faculty (assisted by a few current students), all of whom will be wishing you great success. Read complete audition guidelines here.
